Our original Alpha system consists of the following:

  • Other digital source: Apple MacBook Pro
  • USB interface: Stello U3
  • Preamplifier: SimAudio Moon P-8
  • Power amplifier: SimAudio Moon W-8
  • Loudspeakers: Reference 3a Suprema II
  • Interconnects: Pierre Gabriel ML-1, Atlas Mavros
  • Loudspeaker cables: Pierre Gabriel ML-1 for most of the range, Wireworld Polaris (subwoofers)
  • AC line filter: GutWire MaxCon Squared
  • AC power cords: BIS Audio Maestro, UHF14F
  • Acoustical treatment: Gershman Acoustic Art panels

The third system, code-named Kappa, is our home theatre installation.

  • HDTV monitor: Samsung PN50A550
  • Blu-ray player: Oppo BD-103
  • Preamplifier/processor: Onkyo TX-NR818
  • Power amplifiers: Van den Hul M-1 monoblocks and Celeste 4070se, Robertson 4010 (rear)
  • Main speakers: Energy Reference Connoisseur
  • Centre speaker: Thiel MCS1
  • Rear speakers: Elipson 1400
  • Subwoofer: 3a Design Acoustics
  • AC line filter: GutWire MaxCon Squared
  • AC power cables: GutWire G Clef, Wireworld
  • Cables: Van den Hul, GutWire, Atlas

DISCLAIMER: These systems are designed as working tools, and, although they certainly sound excellent, the criteria we used in choosing the components may be different from your own.
